On this 5-hour guided History and Wine tour we'll visit the Akrotiri Excavations - the most well preserved Greek prehistoric city from the Bronze Age, frozen in time by ash that fell during the Minoan volcanic eruption 3,600 years ago. We'll discover evidence of winemaking that has been estimated to date back to the 3rd Millennium BC, making Santorini one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. Then we'll stroll through the island’s basket vines at 3 island wineries, learn about Santorini’s unique viticulture traditions, and taste a selection of 12 different wine styles from across Santorini and Greece.

We'll spend a half day on a guided tour of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Thesseum, Monastiraki, Modern Market, Patission Ave, Alexandras Ave, Vas. Sofias Ave, Panepistimiou Ave, Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square. We'll also have the opportunity to explore the Acropolis and its Museum which houses many of the greatest archaeological finds of the civilization of Ancient Greece!

Tour of Delphi

We'll spend the whole day touring Delphi, the city of the oracle, that is situated on Mount Paranssos. We'll explore this magnificent mountainside archaeological complex that contains the remains of the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena Pronaia that have drawn people seeking spiritual advice and guidance for thousands of years. Starting in 776 BC athletes from around the Greek world also came to Delphi to compete in the Pythian Games, one of the four panhellenic games, that was a precursor of the Modern Olympics.
